This position primarily oversees UNMC key shop responsibilities including key inventory, cutting keys by code, building key cores, and servicing lock and door hardware. Additionally, provides technical oversight and acts as the subject matter expert for all lock/key/door hardware at not only UNMC but also for the key technician position at UNO. As the campus continues to grow, all new facilities, both University and Nebraska Medicine, are employing the Stanley Best/Dorma Kaba keying system instead of the Schlage system used exclusively at Nebraska Medicine. Nebraska Medicine facilities like the Lauritzen Outpatient Center, Buffett Cancer Center and other facilities that are remodeled transition to Stanley Best/Dorma Kaba as part of the enterprise physical access system. This position must be able to work closely with patient care departments and project management to ensure proper access and security needs are met.
