Salary Range: $30.41-$38.01 per hour
The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
The Locksmith B performs operations as required by job work order and/or maintenance order in preventive maintenance.
Responsibilities
Repairs and installs various types of door hardware and general locking devices.
Shall be skilled in the use of all hand and power tools used by Locksmiths.
Shall have good knowledge of the methods and materials common to both crafts and shall have City of New York Locksmith and Keymaker License.
Shall be expert in such specialized operations as setting up locking systems with master and sub-master keying; cutting keys; Moves lock pick in cylinder to open doors without keys; and opening safes and resetting combinations.
Responsibilities include planning and setting up master lock systems on a variety of new and existing systems, and interacting directly with tenants to meet their needs.
He/She will utilize shop computer for key codes and work with a PDA in the field for lock repairs and lock reprogramming.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED. Five (5) years experience in the Locksmith Trade required.
Licenses: City of New York Locksmith and Keymaker License Required.
