Working as part of the HVAC shop in Plant Operations, the Refrigeration Mechanic will troubleshoot and repair all types of refrigeration systems, including cold rooms, ice machines, DX units, domestic refrigerators, and freezers.
Responsibilities
The Refrigeration Mechanic will troubleshoot and repair all types of refrigeration systems, including cold rooms, ice machines, DX units, domestic refrigerators, and freezers.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Troubleshooting refrigeration systems
Charging refrigerant into units
Brazing, soldering, and swaging refrigeration tubing
Connecting gauges to systems to troubleshoot
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma or equivalent, and Trade School Certification required
Five (5) years of experience with electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and HVAC, and good mechanical and diagnostic skills
Must be able to read electrical diagrams and schematics, solder and braze, and charge and reclaim refrigerant
Must have good communication skills, motor coordination, and good dexterity.
Must have an E.P.A. Universal Refrigerant handling permit.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Certified on E.P.A. for Refrigerant handling (Preferred)
