The hourly range for this role is $17.00 - $25.00. This is the lowest to highest hourly we reasonably expect to pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. JOB SUMMARY
The Facilities Staff position is responsible for the renovation and repair, care of, and maintenance of the schools buildings and grounds. The position works within the Facilities Department and interacts with all school departments, staff, and visitors on campus. The Facilities Staff position performs general maintenance and repairs, handles set-up and break-down for classrooms, offices, meetings and events and ensures that the campus is maintained, clean and free of trash and debris.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform general building maintenance repair work; electrical, plumbing, carpentry, locksmithing and painting work, asphalt work, and sprinkler line to maintain facilities
Move and relocate office furniture; make adjustments to desks, chairs and files.
Install, repair, maintain electrical elements, fixtures and equipment
Repair locking systems on doors, files, cabinets and lockers.
Load and deliver tables and chairs to special events.
Perform regular inspections on campus to identify equipment and or facilities in need of repair
Ensure the proper operation of equipment on campus
Maintain clean job site throughout the duration of work to be completed in order to ensure the safety of students, facility and staff that may be in immediate proximity
Asphalt work ,concrete painting, drywall, wood and metal
Framing
Perform small construction projects from start to finish
Minor landscaping upkeep - trimming shrubs, trees and ground covering when needed
Keep sump pumps clean and in good working order
Performs routine maintenance on building systems.
Orders supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance.
Change filters as scheduled
Perform tasks generated through the ticket system
Perform routine safety inspections and mitigate safety issues pertaining to facilities
General custodial duties, including responding to emergency calls, preparing the campus each morning by picking up trash, washing picnic tables and setting up tables, chairs, umbrellas, canopies, and additional facilities needs/requests for school related and special events
Assistance with classroom setups, office moves, and meeting/event setup and breakdown; storage and moving
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Facilities
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
3+ years of increasingly responsible general facilities maintenance experience
Basic knowledge of methods and principles of general building maintenance including electrical, plumbing, painting, carpentry, HVAC, and drywall, grounds and landscaping work.
Knowledge and understanding of proper use of hand tools including grounds and yard tools.
Basic mathematical principles.
Ability to read blueprints, specifications, and schematic diagrams
Ability to work independently, in the absence of supervision, as well as in a team setting
Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
Other Requirements:
Offers of employment are contingent on passing a background check and TB assessment.
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this position an incumbent is required to: work in changing outdoor weather, lift up to 50 lbs., walk on uneven surfaces and work in regards to all heights, engage in shoveling/hunched over activities, work around dust.
