1.Organize, plan, assign, schedule, and supervise work of personnel involved in the daily operations of the shop to include the maintenance of all electronic access control, key system management, camera systems, electronic key boxes. 2.Provide oversight for compliance programs, prepare, submit, and maintain records of all activities, respond to inquiries from compliance agencies; analyze and implement solutions to new requirements. Ensure adherence to safety regulations and compliance with local, state and federal mandates and rules as applicable to the university. 3.Assign, supervise and participate in major and minor maintenance and repairs on all building access systems and all associated hardware. 4.Diagnose and participate in skilled and semi-skilled repairs and expansion of all access control and campus key systems. Use knowledge to assist other team members with technical assistance. 5.Plan, organize and schedule the work flow of employees, and determine the priority of work orders and their assignment. Advise and assist assigned personnel, and assure timely completion of their work. 6.Monitor and evaluate preventative maintenance (PM) schedules and procedures to maximize asset availability and cost effectiveness. 7.Demonstrate and perform advanced level knowledge and skill of the following systems: Schlage master keying systems/structures, electronic access controls (Open Options/DNA fusion), design, installation and maintenance of camera and video systems (Avigilon), key box control systems (GFMS). ' 8.Recommend assignments of campus wide systems to include: Schlage master keying systems/structures, electronic access controls (Open Options/DNA fusion), design, installation and maintenance of camera and video systems (Avigilon), key box control systems (GFMS); based on usage and needs analysis; establish production and quality control. 9.Oversee work orders and inventory system; monitor budget expenditures, determine expenses, approve of purchases of $2,500 or less in 49'er Mart and approval of P-card transactions, prepare budget requests for equipment and repairs, and determine priorities for specialty repairs from vendors. 10.Monitor employee work schedules via time clock systems (Kronos) that include work times, attendance and time-off. 11.Write specifications for access control and all related equipment; coordinate with FM planning design and construction on the design and installation of all systems, as well as provide recommendations on bid results of all projects and equipment purchases.
Minimum Experience / Education:
Graduation from a technical college with a major in air conditioning, heating and refrigeration technology, industrial maintenance technology or mechanical engineering technology and a minimum of four years progressive experience in facility maintenance; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Education Skills and Experience:
1.Ten years' experience in all access control systems to include: Schlage master keying systems/structures, electronic access controls (Open Options/DNA fusion), design, installation and maintenance of camera and video systems (Avigilon), key box control systems (GFMS). 2.Five years' field experience with card access and locksmith maintenance. 3.Certifications in access control and video systems. 4.North Carolina locksmith license. 5.Five years' supervisory experience in an access control system/locksmith environment. 6.Experience in managing, tracking and reporting on inventory, equipment and work orders. 7.Demonstrated experience delivering outstanding customer service. 8.Ability to effectively promote and manage a diverse and inclusive work place. 9.Ability to foster and create an atmosphere of teamwork with coworkers, visitors, building occupants and the entire campus community. 10.Proven ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing. 11.Ability to effectively read, write, comprehend and communicate the English language. 12.Computer literate, proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and willingness to learn new programs. 13.Skill and experience using initiative, discretion, and judgment within established procedures, guidelines and rules. 14.Skill and experience managing situations requiring diplomacy, fairness, firmness and sound judgment. 15.The selected candidates must have the mental and physical capabilities to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
