Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Housing Operations Facilities Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of Housing Operations Facilities to include Plumbing, HVAC, Electrical, Carpentry, Locksmith, and Window/Floor/Wall Maintenance.
Duties of the position include:
All assigned zone buildings condition and systems maintained to be in good working order and appearance which includes paint, wall, floor, tile, ceiling, lighting, outlets and switches, locks and doors, glass and plumbing.
Check all work for proper repair and installation.
Inspect assigned zone regularly for damages and upgrades.
Organize and prioritize assigned work. Display motivation when planning projects and in going about daily responsibilities.
Resolves most problems independently, except for work of an unusual nature, in which a supervisor may be consulted.
Follow set safety policies and procedures.
Communicate issues and needs to the supervisor. Communicates plan of action with the supervisor and affected staff and students.
Experience with the following:
Work order system.
Multiple years in the building and mechanical trades.
Working around and with college students.
Have Locksmith License.
Strong written communication in application materials.
