Columbia Basin College ("CBC" or the "College") is seeking a Campus Security Officer to perform security work protecting life and property and enforce College rules and regulations, as well as local, state and federal laws. The Campus Security Officer will prevent and investigate crime(s) for referral to local law enforcement and/or the Student Conduct Office as appropriate. As a member of the Campus Security Department, the Campus Security Officer will foster an optimal learning environment that supports the College's mission and student success. This position reports to the Campus Security Lieutenant.

One (1) year of college-level, trade or vocational education;
Prior work experience as a police officer, police reserve, military police or in a campus/university security capacity;
Have and be able to maintain a valid US driver's license, clean driving history and ability to be insured;
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and general computer usage; and
Current CPR/First Aid and AED certifications or attainable by date of hire.
Bi-lingual in English and Spanish;
Bachelor's degree in Police Science, Criminal Justice or Psychology from a regionally accredited college or university;
EMT Basic Certification; and
Experience in key making and general locksmith knowledge related to key usage and lock systems
Columbia Basin College (CBC) serves the citizens of Benton and Franklin counties in Washington state with two-year associate degrees for transfer to a four-year university, and applied degrees for workforce employment. CBC also provides one-year certificates and basic skills for those pursuing a GED or high school diploma. CBC serves approximately 7,000-8,000 students each quarter.Columbia Basin College now offers bachelor degrees in Nursing, Project Management, Applied Management, Cyber Security, Information Technology, and Dental Hygiene.
