Whitestone REIT is looking for an experienced Building Engineer with a superior customer service attitude! The qualified candidate will have a great work ethic, the ability to work under minimal supervision, and capable of handling high end Class A+ mixed use office and retail centers. Come join our team!
Knowledge and working understanding of HVAC systems, BAS controls (Johnson, Metasys), boilers, chillers, air handlers, elevators, escalators, and lighting control systems;
Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agencies and company directives relating to building operations and work safety;
Inspect and supervise/perform preventative maintenance on building operating systems including fire alarms, HVAC and plumbing to ensure equipment is operating properly;
Maintain building lighting controls and systems including ballast repairs or replacements;
Performs locksmith tasks as needed;
Oversee work performed by outside contractors;
Ability to respond to emergency calls after hours;
Complete property inspections as required;
Ability to read and understand mechanical, electrical, plumbing and structural drawings;
Supervise the upkeep and maintenance of common areas (inside and outside).
High school graduate or G.E.D. required;
Minimum 5 years experience in a class A retail and office environment required;
Stationary Engineers license required;
Indoor and outdoor work is normal. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds;
Lifting, climbing, bending, squatting, kneeling, twisting and carrying are common throughout the work day;
Valid driver license and auto insurance required;
Available to work in and around Galleria and Westchase areas.
