|Must document at least 5 years of experience in the HVAC work, buildings and/or physical plants. High School diploma or equivalency required (equivalency must be authenticated by one of the recognized evaluation services in USA, such as, AACRAO, ACE, NACES, etc.)|
Possess Class #6 Steam Boiler Engineer License or higher issued by the District of Columbia. Equal or higher grades of steam engineer licenses issued by other states will be considered as substitute. Must have CFC certification and driver's license.
Good communication and documentation practices by using basic computer skills and office software such as Outlook email, MS words, Excel, Power Point, CMMS, etc. is essential. Must be able to speak, write and read English. Demonstrated ability to read and interpret operating manuals, blueprints and diagrams related with this position. Must be able to work independently and take initiative when necessary as well as be capable of working as a member of a team.
Must be familiar with OSHA regulations concerning all relative safety issues for this position and comply with all standard safety codes and practices, and perform work in accordance with recognized trade standards.
Must be able to push, pull, lift up to fifty pounds and routinely walk to and from various buildings carrying tools, equipment and other essentials to the job site; must be able to stand, walk, carry, stoop, kneel, bend, reach overhead, climb, and focus both near and far. Must be able to work outside in different weathers and be able to climb stairs and ladders and work at flat building roofs for equipment or roof maintenance.
Previous experience in higher education institution or non-profit is preferred. Graduate of a duly recognized school of technology, a graduate of an approved engineer apprentice training program, or an AA or higher degree in engineering studies is highly desirable. Previous experience with Siemens Apogee BAS controls is highly preferred.
