We are searching for a locksmith to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in an interesting and challenging work environment. You will contribute to the department by providing essential support in the installation, repair, and replacement of a variety of mechanical and electrical door operating and locking hardware throughout the campus.
Core responsibilities will include :
Repair and maintain existing locks, panic hardware and door closures for the campus
Change out locks and provide new keys when security requirements demand changes to locking systems.
Cut keys for authorized customers
Maintain and install local security alarms and key switches
Requisition job parts and supplies, and maintain the parts inventory system
Other duties as assigned
You should have strong attention to detail, excellent customer service, and a team-oriented approach. Adaptability, excellence, and passion are vital qualities within Facilities Management Services. This position will require overtime, evenings and weekends, and call-out work.
High School diploma or equivalent required; graduation from a state approved technical or trade program with an emphasis in locksmith required. Manufacturers' courses on a variety of locking systems, and training in electronic locking systems highly desired.
Bonding as a locksmith and valid driver's license required; certification in access control, and camera system design and installation highly desired. CBORD factory training preferred.
Four years combined experience as an apprentice and journeyman locksmith required.
Physical Mobility & Environmental Conditions
Able to lift 40 pounds from ground to overhead. Able to work in confined spaces. Able to travel on foot throughout 100+ acre campus. Occasionally work outside during inclement conditions.
